Creative Pinellas Announces the 2020 Arts Annual

Largo, FL) – Creative Pinellas announces the 2020 Arts Annual. Now in its third year, the Arts Annual is a group exhibition, virtual festival and fundraiser that features top Pinellas County artists and performers. It provides a vibrant experience for visitors, a venue for artists, and a way to support arts and culture in Pinellas County. This year, due to current events, the Arts Annual is being reimagined as a multi-event virtual and on-site arts experience.

 

The Arts Annual group exhibition will return to the Gallery at Creative Pinellas November 12th through December 20th. The exhibition will feature the artwork of over 30 artists, from innovative up-and-coming creators to internationally recognized artists. Since its inception, Creative Pinellas has invited former Professional and Emerging Artist Grantees to display work or perform. As part of the 2020 Arts Annual events, the exhibit will also be accessible to the public remotely, in an online gallery. The Creative Pinellas Virtual Galleries are an immersive experience, allowing visitors to walk through a virtual space, get an artwork’s sense of scale, connect with additional media such as videos of artist insights and the process behind how the artwork is made. Artwork will be available for purchase both in the gallery and online.

 

Also new this year, is the Arts Annual Virtual Festival taking place Sunday, November 15th. This online event will feature performances from a variety of genres: music, theatre, dance, film, studio visits, interactive experiences, collaborations and more all from previous Creative Pinellas grantees.

 

“The way we experience art has shifted. It is challenging but exciting in that it has grown,” said Barbara St. Clair, CEO, Creative Pinellas, “This year we are moving art beyond gallery walls into people’s homes, onto their mobile devices, wherever they want to enjoy it. In addition to giving people more options, the virtual gallery and festival make the outstanding exhibition of Pinellas County artists easily accessible to audiences around the world.”

 

An additional expansion of the Arts Annual program is Creative Pinellas’ Beyond the Walls (BTW). BTW is an arts and culture outreach initiative between over a dozen Pinellas County hotels and Creative Pinellas. Participating hotels are exhibiting artwork from Arts Annual participants for visitors to enjoy. Art will be on display through early December and is all available for purchase through a touchless sales system.  Promotional videos featuring each hotel and artist pairing can be seen at Artsannual.org and will run in regional travel markets. The program is a great way for hotels to showcase the unique art and personality of Pinellas County, for artists to showcase their work to a greater audience and for travelers to experience the talent of Pinellas County artists both during their visit and once they have returned home.

Tickets for the Arts Annual are available at Artsannual.org for $25 per person. Ticket purchase includes access to the virtual arts festival, as well as admission to this Arts Annual Exhibition at its physical location in the Gallery at Creative Pinellas and online in a virtual gallery. Creative Pinellas is accepting donations of any amount. As a non-profit arts organization, Creative Pinellas relies on government, corporate, and individual donations to continue its mission and serve the community. Their programs bring unique artistic projects to the people of Pinellas County and beyond; provide support and resources to artists; address community and civic issues through art; and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors. Donations can be made at various levels from individual support through corporate sponsorship.
