Offered by the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship in Florida State University’s College of Business, the application deadline for the upcoming virtual Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) and Nonprofit Executive Program (SBEP) in St. Petersburg is Monday, Aug. 31. CEOs, small business owners and nonprofit leaders operating for three years or more and with five or more employees are eligible to apply. All applications must be received by 11:59 P.M. on August 31 to be considered.
“We want to help small business owners and nonprofit leaders work on their business rather than working in their business,” said Shane director of Central Florida Operations at the Jim Moran Institute. “We highly encourage small business owners in the Tampa/St. Pete metro area to apply and take time out of their daily schedule to prioritize working on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Our program speakers will share tools to help businesses grow and sustain their operations, while also covering planning and strategic resources focused on COVID-19 related issues.”
The SBEP helps for-profit business leaders work on their businesses while accommodating their busy schedules. Participants learn the Business Model Canvas and are given other tools to emerge as stronger leaders ready to capitalize on business opportunities. They also are exposed to industry experts in marketing, exit strategy, financial analysis and other important business topics.
The NPEP helps nonprofit business leaders develop long-term strategies and action plans that will help organization’s capitalize on future opportunities. They also are exposed to industry experts in marketing, exit strategy, finance, technology and other important business topics.
The upcoming SBEP and NPEP programs will be held virtually with all class sessions being presented via Zoom. The program consists of eight sessions, each focusing on a particular aspect of growing and managing a small business. Starting in September and running through December, the sessions will be held every week from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Offered at no cost to participants, the program is funded by The Jim Moran Foundation and Jim and Jan Moran.
Please note, the dates and structure of the programs are subject to change as the Jim Moran Institute continues to monitor the current COVID-19 guidelines from public health officials.
