Media credential application now open for Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, March 13-15, 2020

ST PETERSBURG, Fla. (January 7, 2020) - Media representatives can now apply for credentials to the 2020 Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, taking place March 13-15. The online application form is available via the "Media" page at The deadline for application submissions is Friday, February 21, at 5 p.m. ET.


The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, one of the largest and most spectacular event weekends in the Tampa Bay area, will again serve as the opening race for the NTT IndyCar Series season for a 10th straight year. Six additional racing series will be showcased on the temporary downtown St. Petersburg track, plus the 8th Annual Modern Business Associates 5K Run benefiting the Police Athletic League of St. Petersburg and American Stage Theater is open to runners and walkers to "race on track."


Due to space limitations, priority will be given to applicants from media organizations with confirmed assignments and wide-spread distribution or audience. An online newsroom is available through the event's website at


The 16th annual Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is a race event held during Florida’s spring break season each March. As the NTT IndyCar Series’ season-opening race for the 10th consecutive year, St. Pete is a destination city hosting this annual motorsports tradition and offering a festival atmosphere with its downtown location. The temporary circuit is a 1.8-mile, 14-turn configuration using the streets circling Pioneer Park, the Duke Energy Center for the Arts, The Dali Museum and extending onto the runways at Albert Whitted Airport, which overlooks the waterfront of Tampa Bay and picturesque St. Petersburg Harbor and Marina. Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is owned and operated by Green Savoree St. Petersburg, LLC, whose affiliates also promote three additional IndyCar races, Honda Indy Toronto (July 10-12, 2020), The Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio (August 14-16, 2020) and Grand Prix of Portland (September 4-6, 2020).
