Media are invited to community conversation at USF St. Petersburg's Lynn Pippenger Hall on December 3 at 6:30 p.m.
WHAT: Indian activist and social entrepreneur Vimlendu Jha is coming to Tampa Bay for a community conversation on how India is responding to dense populations, rapid growth and ways to move towards a more just and equitable society. Jha is the founder and executive director of Swechha, one of the most influential youth-run, youth-focused NGOs operating out of India. He has also produced multiple award-winning documentaries and helped launch a fair-trade initiative that produces products from waste materials.
Jha is known for his innovative and unconventional approaches to contemporary environmental and social issues. He has been recognized as one of the top 25 youth leaders of India, selected as one of 6 worldwide change makers by CNN International and invited to speak at the U.N. General Assembly on youth issues in the global south.
This talk is part of the Open Partnership Education Network Aresty Speaker series, and is in collaboration with World Partnerships.
