Student digital arts and media awards April 9
St. Petersburg College will host the annual Semmy Awards from 7 – 9 p.m. on April 9 at the SPC Seminole Campus Digitorium, 9200 113th St. N. SPC Digital Arts, Media and Interactive Web Design students, along with Pinellas County high school students, will compete in 15 digital arts categories for Semmy Awards. Learn more here.

St. Petersburg College will host a Health Care Career Fair from 12 – 3 p.m. on April 9 at the SPC Health Education Center lobby, 7200 66th St. N., Pinellas Park. Attendees can explore career options and degree programs and get information on SPC programs and how to apply. The SPC programs include:

Three exciting opportunities in one are happening at SPC’s College of Business Open House featuring:
The open house will be hosted from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at SPC EpiCenter, 13805 58th St. N., Clearwater. Upcoming Drone Certification training at SPC’s Workforce Institute
The Workforce Institute at St. Petersburg College will be offering the following course in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in April.
Six-week UAS Video Editing and Production Course on April 23 – May 28 (class held on six consecutive Tuesdays) 6 - 8:30 p.m., SPC EpiCenter, Room 306, 13805 58th St. N., Clearwater. This course provides video professionals at the introductory level with the comprehensive skills they need to import, edit and encode video projects using Final Cut Pro X. The course will also cover pre-production areas such as determining client needs, shot lists and storyboarding, and obtaining licenses, permits, and waivers prior to filming. Through instructor-led demonstrations and exercises, you will learn how to edit video, add video effects and titles, and export your finished video. Career opportunities for students with drone training include business/entrepreneurship, military drone pilot, firefighter, disaster relief, search and rescue, law enforcement, oil and gas operations, border patrol, agriculture, package delivery, forestry, engineering, computer science, real estate, film and photography, and other industries.
