Canterbury School of Florida is celebrating its 50th anniversary!

Join us to kick off the celebration on September 14 when we welcome Mayor Kriseman and more.
You are invited to attend the 50th Anniversary Kick Off Party to celebrate Canterbury's legacy that was created by passionate parents and families of the St. Petersburg community over the past half-century on Friday, September 14, at 8:00 a.m. Please join us!
Canterbury will commence a yearlong celebration starting September 14 by welcoming Mayor Kriseman (or a representative) as well as past and present members of its community spanning 50 years. Events will be held throughout the day on both campuses and are focused around Canterbury’s mission and pervading culture of community.

The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Canterbury’s Hough Campus (Pre K3 - Grade 4), 1200

Snell Isle Blvd ., with a proclamation from the Mayor’s office and a dedication to Canterbury’s 50 year history in the St. Pete community. Events will be broadcast live for students on the Knowlton Campus. We expect to see friends from the Land of Oz at this celebration because everyone knows there’s no place like Canterbury .
The party will continue at 1:00 pm. on the Knowlton Campus (Grades 5-12), 990 62nd Ave NE , where students will engage in festival-style activities that celebrate the unique Canterbury experience featuring signature programs like Marine Studies, Technology, the Arts, and International Studies.
An evening celebration of Canterbury’s Athletics will kick off at 6:00 p.m. on the Knowlton Campus where the community will enjoy catered food and treats, various carnival-style games and activities for our little Crusaders, and will conclude with a home game for the Varsity football team with an induction into Canterbury’s Athletics Hall of Fame at halftime.
Events held throughout the day at both campuses include:

- A Proclamation by Mayor Kriseman

- A visit from characters from the Oz

- Dedication to past teachers and Canterbury’s history

- Digging up the time capsule

- Festival of signature programs

Marine Studies - A focus on marine life, microplastics, and green resources

Technology - Green screen innovation and STEAM activities

Arts - A collaborative art project

- International Studies - A celebration of International cultures

Athletics - Varsity football game featuring varsity and middle school cheerleaders and Canterbury’s smallest cheerleaders - the Pep Squad

- Family-focused activities
