CASA’s “Whole Community Project”

CASA’s “Whole Community Project”

We welcome civic, religious, corporate and educational groups from the area to serve in our many programs and to become a part of the Whole Community Project!

Opportunities Include…

Serve Dinner to the Survivors and Children in the Emergency Shelter as part of CASA’s “Serving Hope” Program
Gather a group to cook (off-site) or purchase already prepared food, and bring it to the Shelter to serve to those who are living there. (Ideal group size varies depending on activity)

Host a workshop for the survivors in the Outreach Support Groups or Emergency Shelter
Create specific curriculum for a workshop based on subjects like financial literacy, healthy recipes, cutting coupons, resume-writing, or arts and crafts to present to the individuals in our Outreach or Shelter programs. (Day or evening, weekends available. Ideal group size varies depending on activity)

Organize a Pizza Party, Arts & Crafts Night or Field Day for the Children in the Emergency Shelter’s Youth Center
With anywhere from 30-50 children at any time in the Emergency Shelter, organizing a day of fun for the Youth Center is easy to do and can mean the world to those participating! (Day or evening, weekends available. Ideal group size varies depending on activity)

Spend a half-day in the CASA Community Thrift Shop or Emergency Shelter
Both of these programs rely heavily on volunteers, especially groups who can get a job done quickly, whereas it would take our staff days or weeks. Typically, groups will sort donations or assist with cleaning. (THRIFT SHOP: Half-day shifts available Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-4pm. Ideal group size is 3-5 volunteers. SHELTER: Wednesdays, 9am-12pm))

Host a Fundraiser or Donation Drive to Support CASA’s Programs
CASA could not do the work that we do, without the support from the community! Hold a fundraiser or organize a donation drive based on the monthly wish list or other seasonal event like Back to School and Hope for the Holidays.

Have an idea we didn’t mention? We welcome your creativity!
