Rachel Platten performs Oct. 22 at Al Lang Stadium

St. Petersburg, Fla. (Oct. 14, 2016) – Singer Rachel Platten, whose inspirational, empowering "Fight Song" became the summer anthem of 2015, will perform Saturday, Oct. 22 at Al Lang Stadium, following the Tampa Bay Rowdies' final game of the season.

The show - part of the Rowdies' Fan Appreciation Night - will begin at approximately 10 p.m., after the post-game fireworks.

“Fight Song” topped iTunes and radio charts, and selling more than 2 million downloads in the U.S. alone.

“I’m in love with the idea of connecting people," says Platten, whose best-known songs also include "Better Place" and "Stand By You." "Bringing people together is to me, the most important thing we can do in this life. I feel like that’s my mission with my music. I think that’s why I’m getting this chance right now.”

The concert is included in the price of a ticket to the Rowdies match. Concert-only tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster for $25 plus tax, starting at noon today. A special family four pack of tickets is available for $75 plus tax.

About Al Lang Stadium

Located at 230 SE 1st Street in downtown St. Petersburg, Fla., the historic, waterfront Al Lang Stadium has been a vital part of the community since it was built in 1947. Originally a baseball park, the venue is named in honor of Al Lang, a former mayor of St. Petersburg who was instrumental in bringing professional baseball to the city in the early twentieth century.

For decades, the stadium was the spring training home for many Major League Baseball clubs and the summer home of their affiliated minor league teams. The stadium hosted its last spring training game in 2008.

Owned by the City of St. Petersburg and now managed by Big3 Entertainment, LLC, today’s Al Lang Stadium is home to the North American Soccer League’s Tampa Bay Rowdies. In 2015, the venue underwent a major renovation including upgraded seating, improved concessions and concourse area, enhanced locker rooms and a state-of-the-art video scoreboard.
