Regional Managing Partner Steve Bernstein also named a “Lawyer of the Year”

TAMPA (August 15, 2016) – Fisher Phillips announced today that three partners in the Tampa office have been selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2017®. Steve Bernstein, Theresa Gallion and Christine Howard have been recognized for their work in labor and employment law.

Additionally, Bernstein, regional managing partner in the Tampa office, has been named Best Lawyers’ 2017 “Lawyer of the Year” for Labor Law-Management in the Tampa region. Only one lawyer in each practice area and community is honored as “Lawyer of the Year."

Bernstein has maintained a traditional labor practice for 26 years, representing employers throughout the United States in both state and federal courts. He advises clients on union-related matters and compliance with various wage and hour regulations, including the National Labor Relations Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act. He also devotes a significant portion of his practice to the implementation of preventive employee relations programs that include supervisory training and effective human resources policies and practices. He has been recognized by Best Lawyers since 2011.

Gallion, a founding partner in the Tampa office, has been practicing labor and employment law for 34 years. She specializes in complex employment litigation and collective actions, representing clients in a wide variety of industries, including hospitality, healthcare, education, retail and telecommunications. Gallion is one of the firm's most experienced trial lawyers, and has successfully tried more than 40 jury trials in employment cases. This is the 11th consecutive year she has been selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers.

Howard, a partner in the Tampa and Atlanta offices, has more than 25 years of experience in labor and employment law, focusing on defending employment discrimination, harassment, leave and disability, and wage and hour complaints. In the last decade, she has defended numerous collective action cases involving the Fair Labor Standards Act (FSLA) and has successfully defeated class certification in practically every instance. In addition to her litigation work, Howard conducts workplace investigations, compliance audits and management training. This is the third consecutive year that she has been listed in Best Lawyers.

The Tampa attorneys are three of 86 attorneys in Fisher Phillips offices nationwide who have been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2017®.
