SPC’s Fall term begins Monday, Aug. 15
St. Petersburg College’s regular Fall term begins Monday, Aug. 15 and the Fall Express term begins Sept. 12. Registration continues. SPC has guaranteed scheduling, so no class will be canceled once it is posted. The last day to register for an online course for the regular session is Sunday, Aug. 14. Learn more here.

Workforce training network honors SPC as ‘Outstanding College’
St. Petersburg College is one of only eight colleges recently awarded the title of “Outstanding College” for achieving an 85 percent completion rate on workforce training network Global Corporate College’s Standards of Good Practice Report Card.
SPC is one of the leading colleges in the Global Corporate College (GCC) network. The announcement was made in July at the Global Corporate College Conference in Arizona. In 2015, SPC entered into an agreement to join GCC, a higher education network that helps corporations train their workforce to meet today’s needs. It currently is the largest human capital development network in the world. Read more here.

Celebrating one year of community partnerships in Midtown
One year after the grand opening of the new Douglas L. Jamerson, Jr. Midtown Center, more than 30 civic organizations have collaborated with the college to positively impact the community. The Midtown Center has expanded the vision of St. Petersburg College’s Educational Ecosystem, a collaboration of Pinellas County educators who help elementary, middle and high school students successfully transition through grade levels and to inspire them to think about college at an early age. SPC’s students, faculty and staff mentor students at Melrose Elementary in hopes of providing a positive connection within the community. Collaborating with local businesses, nonprofit organizations and faith-based leaders, the college has hosted informational seminars and community speaking engagements to support local initiatives. Two-day drone maintenance and repair course
The Workforce Institute at St. Petersburg College is hosting:
- Two-day Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Maintenance and Repair Course
- 6-9 p.m. Aug. 16-17 
- SPC EpiCenter, 13805 58th St. N., Largo.

In this two-day introductory course, students' are familiarized with specialized UAS-related terminology, pre-flight checklists, controllers, motors, cameras, batteries, maintenance and repair. Topics include: troubleshooting and diagnostics, battery care and storage, and general safety considerations

2016 Program Showcase and Career Expo hosted by SPC’s Workforce Institute
St. Petersburg College’s Workforce Institute will host the 2016 Program Showcase and Career Expo on:

Participants can talk to faculty and staff about training and certification programs in manufacturing, information and innovative technologies, business and finance, healthcare, supply chain management and international languages. SPC’s Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions to host forum on food labeling
The complex and confusing issue of food labeling will be the focus of a public forum titled What’s on Your Plate? Food Labeling, from Seed to Fork presented by St. Petersburg College’s Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions on: 
- Wednesday, Aug. 31. 
- 6 to 8 p.m.
