Emergency Management Expo takes St. Petersburg College by storm

With one month in and four more to go, we’ve already experienced three Atlantic tropical storms and one hurricane this season. St. Petersburg College is hosting:

• Emergency Management Expo
• 6 to 8 p.m Thursday, July 28th
• SPC Allstate Center, 3200 34th St. S., St. Petersburg
• Free and open to the public
• Contact 727-341-4507

Participants will learn about safety practices, shelter locations, and what to do before, during, and after a storm. Home Depot, Pinellas County Animal Services, and more will have information tables with resources on how to protect residential homes, family members, and pets from a potential hurricane disaster. The expo will feature presentations from:

• Pinellas County Emergency Management
• St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue Team
• A WTSP-Ch. 10 meteorologist
• St. Petersburg College, Emergency Management Program Chair

In addition, residents can ask questions and learn about careers in Emergency Management and SPC Public Safety programs.

All residents are encouraged to attend, especially those who are new to the area or inexperienced in dealing with hurricanes.
