The Vinoy Renaissance Honored as Top LGBT Hotel
Hotels.com® Awards Historic Property as Resort Prepares for Largest Pride Parade in Southeast US
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (June 22, 2016) – The Vinoy Renaissance Resort and Golf Club has been awarded with the Best Top 50 LGBT Award from Hotels.com® for receiving exceptional ratings and reviews from customers of the online hotelier. This award honors LGBT-friendly hotels that consistently earn top ratings from Hotels.com guests, and The Vinoy has proven itself to be a leader in LGBT travel in one of the friendliest LGBT destinations in the state of Florida.
Hotels.com® recently launched their “Loved by Guests Awards 2016,” a set of honors decided by 20 million verified reviews. More than 2,700 hotels across 94 countries are selected for the Gold awards, with an additional 500 hotels honored with the ‘Loved by Guests Awards,’ in the ‘Best for’ categories. These awards celebrate the very best hotels around the world across 10 specific categories including Luxury, Business, Boutique, LGBT, Beach, Ski, Family, Spa, New and All Inclusive.
“We are thrilled to have been selected by our guests for this distinct honor,” said Barbara Readey, General Manager of The Vinoy. “We value our commitment to the inclusivity of every kind of traveler, and knowing that our efforts are appreciated by our guests is an accomplishment in itself.”
This award comes with perfect timing as the resort is preparing for St. Pete Pride, the largest pride festival of its kind in the Southeastern U.S. The festival takes place from June 24 through 26. The Vinoy finds itself in the heart of the Downtown St. Pete area– just blocks from the parade route and street festival– and is the perfect outpost for travelers visiting the area for the weekend’s events.
The Vinoy is also dedicated to the LGBT community near and far. Over St. Pete Pride weekend on June 24 and 25, the property will be donating a portion of rooms revenue to the OneOrlando Fund.
In addition, the resort will be joining forces with the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association on June 30 for the “Dine Out for Orlando United” campaign. A portion of all food and beverage sales from that date will be donated to the same fund as well. The resort will serve a signature beverage called the ‘Pride & Passion’ cocktail– a blend of grenadine, orange juice, rum and blue curacao layered in a glass to form the colors of the pride flag.
