The Armed Forces History Museum Announces Its Senior Freedom Celebration and Ride Through History Events

THE ARMED FORCES HISTORY MUSEUM ANNOUNCES ITS SENIOR FREEDOM CELEBRATION AND
RIDE THROUGH HISTORY EVENTS

Largo, FL (June 8, 2016)
The Armed Forces History Museum will welcome the Senior Freedom Celebration presented by Lifestyles After 50 next Thursday, June 16th from 9:30am to 2:00pm. This summer will also see the return of the family favorite event, Ride Through History on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm on June 25th, July 9th, July 23rd and August 6th.

Once again, the Senior Freedom Celebration is free to all seniors 50 and over, and includes over 35 vendors, a live DJ, dancers, a military dress up photo booth, museum tours, bingo, prizes, snacks and much more. Lunch will be available for $5. Regular admission prices of $17.95/adults, $12.95/tweens and $9.95/youths 4-12 will apply.

For the fifth year, Ride Through History will return with deeply discounted admission of $10 for adults and $5 for youths 4-12. The event includes drills and demonstrations by WWII re-enactors from the 1st Infantry Division, free hot dogs, museum tours, scavenger hunts and youth hero certificates featuring mascots Military Max and “Mighty” the M8. Discounted dog tags will be offered at half-off at $5 per set. Military vehicle rides and additional food will be available for purchase. Those wishing to ride “Mighty” the M8, the museum’s WWII reconnaissance vehicle, can find a $10 off coupon at maxandmighty.com.

Ride Through History will have an optional add-on this year. On June 25th and July 23rd, youths can add the Build With Beads activity for an additional $5 ($10/adults and $10/youths). Children can use their imaginations to make bracelets or necklaces. On July 9th and August 6th, youths can engage in the museum’s popular Build A Model Camp for an additional $9.95 ($10/adults and $14.95/youths). Children can make a take-home model with professionals from the Pelikan Model Club. Anyone participating in the Beads or Model activity will receive a free set of dog tags plus a free ride on the museum’s Virtual Voyager Simulator.
