2016 Public Utilities Career Expo will be held Tuesday
As part of its Career Exploration Series, St. Petersburg College is hosting an event for those interested in the public utilities fields on Tuesday, May 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the St. Petersburg College Seminole Campus Conference Center, 9200 113th St. N., Seminole, FL. The event will feature several information sessions about career planning, water treatment and distribution, and other relative topics to the industry as well as a networking opportunities with local municipalities, educators and members of public works related professional organizations. Attendees will learn about current and future career opportunities and training requirements, salary expectations salaries and scholarship opportunities.
Underwater Cleanup to be held May 21
The Clearwater Campus Scuba Club and Science Adventures Club will host a cleanup to remove old fishing gear and crab trap ropes that can be harmful to marine life. The clean-up will be held on Saturday, May 21 from 9 a.m. to noon at Pier 60, 1 Causeway Blvd, Clearwater Beach.
SPC Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships
St. Petersburg College Foundation is accepting applications for scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year. During the 2015-16 academic year, the college awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships to more than 1,900 students. Not all Foundation Scholarships are based on financial need. To qualify for a scholarship:

Family-friendly Touch-a-Truck event
St. Petersburg College’s Allstate Center will honor National Armed Forces Day with its Second Annual “Touch-a-Truck” event on Saturday, May 21. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Allstate Center, 3200 34th St. S., St. Petersburg. “Touch-a-Truck” is a fun and affordable, family-friendly event where children, teens and parents can see impressive vehicles up close, learn about their functions and the exciting careers associated with those vehicles.
