CITY OF ST. PETERSBURG APPROVES PLAN TO PROTECT 12 ACRES OF BOYD HILL NATURE PRESERVE

Today, the St. Petersburg City Council approved Mayor Rick Kriseman’s plan to acquire a portion of the St. Petersburg Country Club property, adding approximately 12 acres to our Boyd Hill Nature Preserve and protecting the preserve from the threat posed by development. Included in the city’s acquisition is an additional 23 acres of land restricted to golf use only, further protecting this area from development.

Said Mayor Rick Kriseman: “Green space is what helps makes St. Petersburg special, and so I am incredibly pleased that we are able to expand and better protect the Boyd Hill Nature Preserve. The sun is shining bright today on Boyd Hill, the country club, and the Lakewood Estates Civic Association.”
