St. Petersburg Museum of History Joins Give Day Tampa Bay and Urges Residents To Give Locally on May 3, 2016
St. Petersburg, FL (April 25, 2016) – The St. Petersburg Museum of History is proud to be participating in the third annual Give Day Tampa Bay on May 3, 2016.
All money raised on this day will assist the St. Petersburg Museum of History in continuing to share the Sunshine City’s stories with residents and visitors to Florida. This year’s donations will help the Museum design and construct a state-of-the-art, interactive main exhibit telling the history of St. Petersburg and how it pertains to Florida History, from pre-Columbian period to current day.
Give Day Tampa Bay is a 24-hour, online giving event, designed to increase philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area and raise awareness of the amazing work local nonprofits do in this community. This is the third year that the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay has sponsored this event, which raised $1.75 million for 550 Tampa Bay area nonprofits last year.
“The Museum of History has been sharing St. Petersburg stories for 94 years on the downtown waterfront and our goal is to raise $5,000 on May 3 which will help us provide this cultural experience for another 94 years,” said Rui Farias, Executive Director.
To give, simply visit www.GiveDay.org on May 3, 2016 and find St. Petersburg Museum of History in the list of participating organizations. All donations made are tax-deductible.
