St Petersburg, FL –April 12, 2016 – Daystar Life Center’s With These Hands Breakfast was created four years ago to honor the many hands that work together to create community. From the hands of the homeless man who picks up the trash in the yard each morning, to the hands of the person who stocks our pantry or the client who brings us plastic bags, the volunteer who keeps our books or the donor who writes checks or brings gently used clothing – these hands all work together to help our neighbors in need.

We anticipate a capacity crowd.

For the second year in a row, Brett Funeral Home is the naming sponsor of the Fourth Annual Daystar Life Center, Inc. With These Hands Breakfast which takes place Wednesday, April 13 at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 445 82nd Avenue, St Pete Beach.

Daystar Life Center, Inc. will present the With These Hands Award to Pinellas County Commissioner Kenneth Welch during the breakfast, which begins at 7:30 am. The program follows at 8:00 am. Commissioner Welch will also give the keynote address, "Our Responsibility to Our Neighbors in Need." Dick Crippen, senior advisor to the Tampa Bay Rays, will emcee.

Daystar Life Center is a non-profit organization founded as an outreach ministry of Saint Mary Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. The agency provides basic needs to individuals and families in times of crisis. The volunteer-driven agency is a frugal steward of its resources so that it can better provide direct client services including: food, clothing, local transportation, utility assistance, rent/mortgage assistance, prescription help, Travelers Aid, personal identification, hygiene needs, online benefits assistance, confidential and secure mail service, referrals for other services, USDA commodity food, haircuts, and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).
