Press Release: Studio@620 supports creation of new local film project
For Immediate Release
St. Petersburg, FL (March 17, 2016) — "Surpassing All Other Kings" is the second feature film project from local independent filmmaker Chris Fuller and producer Frank Craft, following 2006's "Loren Cass" which had its first screening at Studio@620 in October of that year. The film was met with international acclaim and played at film festivals worldwide along with the Museum of Modern Art. "Loren Cass" was released theatrically and on DVD by Kino International in 2009, a rare accomplishment, after being nominated for an IFP Gotham Award.

"Surpassing All Other Kings" is the true story of Shannon Wren, a St. Petersburg man who was drawn into the world of counterfeit computer chips, and his dealings with a menacing business partner, retired U.S. Navy Captain David Cowliss. Wren would acquire generic chips in bulk from China, where they were harvested from e-waste and washed in dirty rivers. He'd then mark them as certified for sensitive use and re-sell them to technology companies, defense firms and the Navy at a premium. Wren's chip brokering business generated over $15 million in 5 years before it all began to crumble. The cast includes Chris Fuller, Bob Devin Jones, and Sierra Noble

Please join us for a fundraiser at one of the film's primary locations, the Snell Arcade building in downtown St. Petersburg, aimed at launching and supporting this new filmmaking endeavor.
The Snell Arcade is located at 405 Central Avenue. April 6, 2016, 6:00-8:00 PM

"In terms of low-budget filmmaking aspiring past its limitations, Loren Cass is the real deal."

Chris Fuller Bio:
Born in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1982, Chris Fuller made his feature film debut with LOREN CASS, a coming-of-age film set just after the 1996 St. Petersburg riots. Written at the age of fifteen and directed when he was just twenty-one, LOREN CASS was called "a starkly radical film debut of uncommon power and artistic principal" by Variety.
Fuller was also profiled in "Take 100: The Future of Film, 100 New Directors," a literary undertaking curated by ten directors of the world's leading film festivals that surveys 100 of today's best emerging film directors.
With his second feature in pre-production and several in development, Fuller has established himself as one of the most promising young filmmakers of a new generation.
Frank Craft Bio:
Born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1983, Frank Craft moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1993.
Shortly thereafter, he began preparing LOREN CASS, his first production where he accomplished something few producers do -- secure a theatrical release for a micro-budget feature with an unknown cast, directed by a first-time filmmaker.
In addition to producing films under the Jonesing Pictures banner, Craft is also in a leadership role of the Belger Arts organizations. In 2013, he was a key figure in opening the Belger Crane Yard Studios and Gallery, a facility dedicated to providing exhibition and studio space for artists working in a variety of media, including the Red Star artist residency program for ceramics.

The Studio@620 is a non profit arts venue located at 620 1st Ave. South, St. Petersburg FL 33701
