WUSF Public Media to Host ‘The Longest Table’ Event

Ten Local Restaurants to Serve 4-Course Al Fresco Dinner

TAMPA, Fla. (March 9, 2016) – Tickets are now on sale for Tampa Bay’s epicurean event of the year, WUSF Public Media’s award-winning “The Longest Table” dinner along the waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg.

Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, ten amazing local restaurants will provide food, wine and cocktails for a fixed-price dinner to remember, with tables running down Bayshore Drive NE from the Museum of Fine Arts to the Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club. The annual WUSF Public Media benefit event sold out in 2014 and 2015, and organizers expect upwards of 500 people this year.

“This al fresco dinner is becoming one of the most popular and treasured events of the year in Tampa Bay,” said WUSF Public Media General Manager JoAnn Urofsky. “I’m thrilled we have so many talented chefs returning to this year’s event. Thanks to these amazing restaurants and our long-time sponsors, this will be a night you’ll remember for years to come.”

The Longest Table has been recognized as a signature event in the region by Tampa Bay Magazine and others. Restaurants include those returning from last year’s event such as Mise en Place, and Parkshore Grill, as well as new participants, such as The Mill and Spice Pop Up Restaurant. (See the full restaurant list below.) The dinner ticket includes entrance to an after-party at the Museum of Fine Arts where guests can meet and mingle with staff from WUSF and the MFA.

Each restaurant will serve a specific table, and tickets will range from $100 to $160, depending on the restaurant guests select. Guests can purchase tickets online at wusf.org/longesttable or by calling (800) 661-0823. Reservations are required and menus for each of the participating restaurants/caterers will be available online. Seating is limited and guests must be 21 or older.

Sponsors of this year’s event include MFA Museum of Fine Arts, City of St. Petersburg, Pinellas Community Foundation, University of South Florida St. Petersburg, Dimmitt Land Rover of Clearwater and Tampa Bay Magazine.

The evening begins with guest check in at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Welcome Grand Toast and announcement of the Table Décor Contest winner. The feast begins at 6:30 p.m.
