THE 5th ANNUAL RED, WHITE AND CRAFT BREWS FEST ON SATURDAY, MAY 21st AND THE

8th ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY FAMILY FUNFEST ON MONDAY, MAY 30th

The 7th Annual Golf Tournament Cancelled

 

(Largo, FL) March 17, 2016 – The Armed Forces History Museum is pleased to announce the return of the 5th Annual Red, White and Craft Brews Fest and the 8th Annual Memorial Day Family Funfest, making May a busy month. The museum previously announced the Invention Convention event to be held on May 21st from 10am to 1pm.

 

The 5th Annual Red, White and Craft Brews Fest presented by J.J. Taylor Distributors is slated for Armed Forces Day, Saturday, May 21st from 5pm to 9pm and features over 75 craft and specialty brews.  Guests can also enjoy limited rare beer sampling, cheese and beer pairings, military dress up, a photo booth, two food trucks, a cigar lounge, souvenir tasting glasses, raffles, virtual voyager simulator rides, music and more.  Tickets are $26 (food, rides and cigars not included in ticket price), and may be purchased on line at www.armedforcesmuseum.com or in person at the museum.  The event’s associate sponsors are George Franklin Insurance and the Florida Restaurant Purchasing Group.

 

On Monday, May 30th from 10am to 3pm, the 8th Annual Memorial Day Family Funfest returns with a very special Memorial Day ceremony at 11:50am.  Deeply discounted all-inclusive activity ticket admission at $10 for adults and $5 for youths 4-12 is offered as well as a military obstacle course, video games truck, a tractor pit, bounce house, military dress-up, face painting, bounce house, homing pigeons, WWII re-enactors from the 1st Infantry Division, museum tours, and the Bomber Girls. Military vehicle rides as well as food and beverage will be available for purchase. For those wishing to ride “Mighty” the M8, the museum’s WWII reconnaissance mini tank vehicle, a $10 off coupon is available on line at www.maxandmighty.com .  The first 400 children receive a free Walgreens beach ball and all children will receive a coloring sheet and a $5 off coupon good toward admission to Orlando’s Crayola Experience.

 

The 11:50am Memorial Day ceremony will feature Congressman David Jolly as well as Largo Mayor Woody Brown, the Largo Police Department Color Guard and trumpeter, a 21-gun salute, wreath laying, veterans from all 5 branches of service and more.  This special ceremony is included in the admission price.  Tickets to the 8th Annual Memorial Day Family Funfest will be available at the door the day of the event only.  Event sponsors include Walgreens, Q105 and Gulf Coast Family newspaper.

 

The 7th Annual Golf Tournament scheduled for Thursday, April 7th at the Bayou Club has been cancelled.

 

Proceeds from special events benefit the museum’s Operation: Education program, which allows the museum to underwrite the cost of field trips, lunch and bus transportation for underprivileged children in Title I schools, as well as the youth-based core values Mission: It’s Possible! – Discover Your Inner Hero program led by cartoon characters Military Max and “Mighty” the M8, which encourages children to be the best person they can by embracing characteristics exemplified by the military. Proceeds also benefit costs associated with the museum as it continues to preserve the history and memories of the military and its veterans.
