Bank of America named 2016 “Golden Hammer Corporate Partner of the Year”
by Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County
ST. PETERSBURG, FL – March 11, 2016 – In recognition of its extraordinary commitment to Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County’s affordable homeownership program, Bank of America was named “Golden Hammer Corporate Partner of the Year” during the nonprofit’s third annual BLUEPRINT gala, held March 5th at the Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg. Bank of America is the first company to exceed the $1 million mark in donated property and grant funding to Habitat Pinellas.
Bill Goede, Bank of America’s Tampa Bay Market President, received the award from last year’s recipient, Bill Brand, President of HSN, and Habitat Pinellas board chair Julie Klavans and CEO Mike Sutton.
Bank of America has not only financially sponsored Habitat Pinellas homes and the property the nonprofit builds on, but through its employees, has also contributed thousands of volunteer hours over the years on the Habitat construction sites.
“Bank of America is happy to work with Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County on our goal of connecting Tampa Bay families with affordable housing and strong, vibrant neighborhoods,” said Goede. “We’re excited to help revitalize communities, one house and family at a time.”
“By partnering with Habitat Pinellas, Bank of America has helped to empower local families who, through Habitat’s affordable homeownership program, become stronger, more stable and self-reliant and are set on a path for long-term success – a success that also impacts our local communities,” said Sutton.
