Pinellas and Hillsborough County Community Bands Join Together to Celebrate a Thriving Live Music Scene, Saturday, April 14, Williams Park St. Petersburg, FL

St. Petersburg, Florida, March 20, 2018 - Five Pinellas and Hillsborough County Community Bands, nearly 500 performers, Join Together to Celebrate Live Music downtown St. Petersburg, FL at the bandstand in Williams Park FL (350 2nd Ave North, St. Petersburg 33701).

Continuous Live Music performed from 2:00PM-5:00PM by the 80-piece St. Petersburg Community Band, the 50-piece Wesley Chapel Wind Ensemble, the 60-Piece Dunedin Concert Band, the 60-piece Eastern Hillsborough Community Band, and the 300-piece Greater St. Petersburg Area Awesome Original Second Time Arounders Marching Band, complete with majorettes, dancers, and flag teams. The five bands will join together for a 400+ piece finale at the end of the show.

Experience the sounds of these five very different bands– individually and as one large group – as they play traditional, familiar and modern concert band tunes. “It’s a showcase of entertainment provided by participants enjoying a lifetime of music making,” says Second Time Arounders director Bill Findeison, who’s adult marching band is celebrating its 36th season.

“These are a fine mix of amateur and professional musicians in five bands who enjoy the activity enough to continue playing long after the notes of their high school, college, or military bands have expired. The quality of musicianship is an experience to hear…live” adds Stephen P. Brown who directs the Dunedin Concert Band.

The music begins at 2pm but picnics on the lawn can begin much sooner. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, fill yourself from the food trucks on site, and be sure to make a donation to help the band programs sponsor the hundreds of volunteer performers on stage.
