SPC tuition discounts for displaced students still in place
St. Petersburg College is still offering in-state tuition rates to displaced students from Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Houston area. Additionally, the college’s $40 application fee is waived for these students.

Upcoming Drone Certification training at SPC’s Workforce Institute
The Workforce Institute at St. Petersburg College will be offering the following course in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in January.

• Four-week UAS Remote Pilot (Drone) Certificate Prep Course on Jan. 17-Feb. 7, 2018 (class held on four consecutive Wednesdays) 6:00-8:30 p.m., SPC Tarpon Springs Campus, NU Building, Room 462, 600 E Klosterman Rd. This four-week course is designed to prepare students to pass the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate exam. The course will include UAS regulations, flight operations and restrictions, emergency procedures, crew resource management, radio communication procedures, aeronautical decision-making and judgement, and maintenance and pre-flight inspection procedures. Career opportunities for students with drone training include business-entrepreneurship, military drone pilot, firefighter, disaster relief, search and rescue, law enforcement, oil and gas operations, border patrol, agriculture, package delivery, forestry, engineering, computer science, real estate, film and photography, and other industries.

SPC's Workforce Institute offers a trusted suite of non-degree training services and options that are affordable and accessible to both individuals and organizations. Our upcoming information session will outline the certificates or certifications that we offer.
