Press Release:  Fanni Green and Erica Sutherlin Return with Second Season of “Say! What?” at The Studio@620
For Immediate Release
St. Petersburg, FL (August 27, 2015)    — The second Season of  “Say! What?”, a series of staged theatrical readings and community discussions hosted by Erica Sutherlin and Fanni Green, will begin September 17, 2015 at The Studio@620
Come enjoy the talents of your favorite local actors as they read hand selected plays! This series will introduce little known plays and playwrights to a broader audience as well as re-visit some well known works. All plays will be presented with the anticipation that it will provoke discussions around the relevance, and resonance of the play to the community.

September’s event will feature "The Bluest Eye" by Lydia Diamond.
Nobel Prize-winning author Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye is a story about the tragic life of a young black girl in 1940's Ohio. Eleven-year-old Pecola Breedlove wants nothing more than to be loved by her family and schoolmates. Instead, she faces constant ridicule and abuse. She blames her dark skin and prays for blue eyes, sure that love will follow. With rich language and bold vision, this powerful adaptation of an American classic explores the crippling toll that a legacy of racism has taken on a community, a family, and an innocent girl.
