EDGE District Improvement Plan unanimously approved by City Council

The EDGE District Improvement Plan (a.k.a. Master Plan) was unanimously approved by the St. Petersburg City Council this morning.

Consultants AECOM and team presented the overview of the Plan to Council, after which representatives from the EDGE Business District Association and EDGE community made statements in support. The Plan reflects the culmination of nearly two years of input and development by the consultant team, in coordination with the EDGE Business District Association, the City of St. Petersburg, and EDGE community.

Key ingredients of the plan include the provision of wayfinding and district identification, increased public parking, public green space and pedestrian enhancements, and beautification of the Central and Baum Avenue streetscape corridors. To download the complete Plan, click here.

The next step is implementation of the Plan, and as several Council members urged, beginning that work immediately is a priority. The EDGE Business District Association will continue its work in coordinating district input and efforts on those implementation projects.
