City Presents State of Urban Affairs Annual Update January 29

St. Petersburg, Fla
. (January 23, 2017) – The public is invited to learn about the city’s progress in south St. Petersburg during the 2017 State of Urban Affairs Annual Update on Sunday, January 29, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Fairmount Park Elementary School, 575 41st Street S. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available onsite and adjacent to the school.

In addition to presentations by Mayor Rick Kriseman, Deputy Mayor Dr. Kanika Tomalin and Urban Affairs Director Nikki Gaskin-Capehart, the mayor’s inaugural Cohort of Champions group will be introduced. The Cohort is a multi-faceted one-year training program providing educational, entrepreneurial and enrichment support for 100 young men, ages 12 to 24. Starting this month, the signature program of Mayor Kriseman’s My Brother’s and Sister’s Keeper initiative focuses on developing character and providing hands-on experience and workforce readiness training.
