CMA to Release & Receive Sea Turtles in Same Day

Clearwater, FL (December 20, 2016) – Media has a unique opportunity to film two major sea turtle activities in one day. In a one-of-a-kind day, Clearwater Marine Aquarium will release a fully rehabilitated rare Hawksbill sea turtle back into the Gulf of Mexico Wednesday from a CMA rescue boat (water release). The boat will leave at 9:15 am and media are invited on the boat. It will be an approximate one-hour trip. Later in the afternoon CMA will be receiving three Loggerhead sea turtles via a flight from the New England Aquarium due to recent cold weather in the northeast. Tampa airport location and exact time to be determined later today.

When: Wednesday, December 21. Arrive at 9am. Boat departs at 9:15am.
What: Sea turtle airport arrival
Where: TBD (likely Tampa or St. Pete airport)
