Next in Gulfport Public Library LGBTQ Film Series

GULFPORT, FLORIDA: The LGBTQ Resource Center at Gulfport Public Library is proud to continue its new monthly LGBTQ Film Series with a classic and popular documentary on Thursday, January 12th. This is a free gathering to enjoy a film on the second Thursday of each month. Popcorn, candy, bottled water and soda are available. Donations will be accepted to benefit the LGBTQ Resource Center. Feel free to bring your own “brown bag” supper and beverages.

Each film begins at 7pm in the Friends Room at Gulfport Public Library (5501 28th Avenue South). Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Licensing restrictions prohibit naming the title of films in public press releases. But feel free to call the Library at (727) 893-1074 for the film titles and other information about the film series. Or find titles and more information at the Library’s Facebook page:

About the January 12th feature: In this recently released award-winning French-Belgian film (with subtitles), Carole and Delphine fall in love against the backdrop of the feminist movement politics of 1971 Paris. Things become complicated when Delphine must return to run the family farm. The cinematography includes beautiful footage of the French countryside. Starring Cecille de France and Izïa Higelin. Directed by Catherine Corsini. (Not Rated)

Save the date for the next film in the series, Thursday, February 9th, featuring a poignant documentary about the final year in the life of a transgendered man living in a southern community. Watch for announcements of other films as they are added to the series on the second Thursday of each month.
