On Thursday, December 1st from 5-9 pm St. Petersburg's EDGE District will be center of holiday festivities with its 2nd Annual Holiday Magic in the EDGE. Hosted by the EDGE Business District Association, this free event will fill the 7-block district with sights, songs, and celebration of the season.

Visitors can view and vote on the Holiday Window Display Contest and Festive Drink Contest, and can also enjoy holiday lights, carolers, Lighted Bike Brigade, Yuletide Yoga, family art activities, Jacob the Painting Horse, Outdoor Holiday Movie, Winter Bubbles, wreath market, Santa Shuttle, drawings for prizes, and more.

The event's Holiday Window Display Contest is ongoing through December 12, and features seventeen entries by EDGE businesses. With titles like "Melty Cheesemas" and "Be Jolly without the Jelly," many of the windows are whimsical and play on the business product or service. The public can vote for their favorites either online at, or by written ballot at the event festivities December 1. A secret panel of judges will also be choosing winners in four other categories, including Most Original, Best Story/Theme, Best Use of Lighting, and Best Use of Product/Service.

The Festive Drink Contest takes place on December 1 from 5-9 pm and also features seventeen unique entries, including Salted Caramel White Russian, Jingle Jangle Sangria, EDGEnog, and Van Gogh Grog. The public can taste free samples and vote throughout the evening. Drink tickets and ballots are available at the event's Welcome Square next to 1229 Central.

Other activities at the Welcome Square include family art activities sponsored by Creative Clay, Jacob the Painting Horse from 5-7 pm, a live wreath market, prize drawings, and complimentary gift wrapping from 5-9 pm, and Yuletide Yoga sponsored by Peace of Yoga from 7:30-8:30 pm. A few steps away at Green Bench Brewing, visitors can enjoy an outdoor holiday movie, Elf, starting at 7 pm.

Another of the evening's highlights will be the Lighted Bike Brigade, which will coast through the EDGE District down Central Avenue at 6:30 pm.
