Friends of Strays Announces Second Annual “The Quest for the Emerald Paw”
Teams to compete for fun, prizes in citywide scavenger hunt
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Animal lovers are invited to participate in an exciting new event that will take participants on a fun-filled adventure through the city of St. Petersburg.
The event, called The Quest for the Emerald Paw, will be held on Saturday, December 10. It is organized by Friends of Strays, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care and adoption of homeless and abandoned animals.
Teams of four will begin their journey at 11 a.m. at the Friends of Strays Animal Shelter, 2911 47th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg. After they pick their team mascot, an adoptable animals from the shelter, they will follow clues that will lead them on a scavenger hunt to find the elusive Emerald Paw.
The quest will finish in downtown St. Petersburg with a celebration and awards ceremony at 4 p.m at Cage Brewery, 2001 1st Ave S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712.
“The Quest for the Emerald Paw is more than just an opportunity to have fun with friends and enjoy an afternoon in St. Petersburg,” said Mo Eppley, Friends of Strays board president. “It also raises the money and awareness our organization needs to continue finding loving homes for abandoned animals in need.”
Cost is $100 for a team of four. Humans only, please! Because team members will drive to different locations during the hunt, it’s best to leave the four-legged friends at home.
Each team member will receive a t-shirt to wear during the quest and a drink ticket for the celebration party. The winning teams will receive a 3D printed trophy designed special for us from Tangible Labs
Sponsors are needed to help offset the costs of the event. All sponsor levels include at least one team as a benefit. The levels include Top Dog - $2500, Coolest Cat - $1000, Pick of the Litter - $500 and Crazy Kitten - $250. Goodie bags Sponsorships are also available.
