City Closings November 11 - Changes to Trash-Recycling Pickup Thursday-Friday

SOME CITY FACILITIES CLOSED VETERANS DAY NOVEMBER 11
Holiday Affects Trash and Recycling Collection Thursday-Friday

St. Petersburg, Fla. (November 7, 2016) – St. Petersburg hosts the third annual Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, November 11, at 8 a.m. in Williams Park, corner of Fourth Street and First Avenue North, by presenting the “2016 Honored Veteran” Award to Michael Jernigan, U.S. Marine Corps veteran. The event is free and open to the public.

For St. Petersburg residential utility customers, there are changes to trash and recycling collection days. During the Veterans Day holiday week, November 7 to 11, Monday and Tuesday collections remain the same. Thursday collections will be made on Wednesday and Friday collections will be on Thursday.

City government facilities CLOSED on Friday, November 11, include City Hall and Municipal Services Center downtown, community libraries, The Greenhouse, Enoch Davis Center, Sunshine Center, Dwight H. Jones Neighborhood Center, Jamestown Apartments and Townhomes Office, Coliseum, and Sunken Gardens’ business offices.

St. Petersburg city facilities OPEN for business on Friday, November 11, include Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, three public golf courses, Sunken Gardens attraction, North Shore Aquatic Complex, Mahaffey Theater Box Office, Municipal Marina Ship’s Store, recreation centers, brush sites, and the city’s beach concession stand on Treasure Island.

On Friday, November 11, Sunken Gardens, 1825 Fourth St. N., offers free admission for U.S. military veterans and active military members with ID.
